A Medieval Style Limoges Enamel and Copper Alloy Pricket Candlestick, Late 19th Century

The cupped pentagonal drip pan decorated to the underside with a band of triangular-shaped motifs above the cylindrical shaft engraved with lozenge-shaped decoration, the central knop decorated in blue enamel with repeating stylised foliate ornament, the trefoil base with conforming ornament on scroll feet — 22cm high; 10.5cm wide at the base

Provenance: Spetchley Park.

Condition: The surface of the metal oxidised and tarnished. The nut to the base possibly a later replacement. The tip of the pricket slightly bent to one side. Other than this wear and tear consistent with age and use.
