A Large Kerela Rice Grinder, 19th Century

The tapered cylindrical body with ogee mouldings below the wide flat rim enclosing a shallow depression, the rim with the painted remains of initial R.M.S. -- 15.1/2in. (39 cm) high; 14.1/4in. (36 cm) diameter; with later associated pestle

Condition: As can be seen in the photographs and consistent with age and use there are old shrinkage cracks in areas overall, the rim with some old minor chips to the outer edge. The pained initials are worn. Generally very sound and in good functional order.
